Prepaid Spending Card Program
If you shop at Giant Eagle, Home Depot,
Best Buy, Macy’s, or any of hundreds of other local and
national merchants, you’ll want to take advantage of a
new Prepaid Spending Card program that is being introduced by
MLUMC’s Finance Committee. Through this program you can
purchase a prepaid spending card from the merchant of your
choice and use it for everyday expenses like food, clothing,
toys, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out, and help
raise money for the ministries of MLUMC at the same time.
The beauty of the program is that you put
your regular household shopping dollars to work and earn money
for MLUMC without spending a single additional penny. Just
spend your regular shopping dollars using these cards at the
stores that participate in the program! Here’s how it
works:
1. You buy prepaid cards through MLUMC for
full face value.
2. You redeem them for full face value.
3. Participating retailers agree to sell gift
cards to MLUMC at a discount.
4. MLUMC keeps the discount difference of
3–12% as revenue
5. Each time you shop, you are also making
a gift to the church!
Card orders will be taken on Sunday
mornings after worship services and will be available for pick
up the following Sunday. If you are unable to make it to
worship on Sunday to pick up the card, you can pick it up in
the church office or after worship the next Sunday.
The program began last month and will
continue throughout the coming year so you can use the cards
for your everyday shopping or for any gift giving occasion.
The list of participating merchants is
extensive, so there’s sure to be a store or restaurant
for even those out-of-town friends and family on your gift
list. The list below shows just a few of the hundreds of
participating retailers. A complete list is available in the
main office and in the Narthex after Sunday worship services.
