Lauren joined the MLUMC staff in September of 2007. She brings a rich administrative background, working most recently as the Administrative Assistant at Jumonville Christian Camp and Conference Center. Previously, Lauren worked in college admissions in North Carolina and Pittsburgh. In addition to 8 years of professional experience working in a progressive administrative capacity, Lauren also works with youth, both professionally and on a volunteer basis.
Lauren belongs to Anne Ashley UMC and upholds Wesleyan tradition and endeavors to share Christ’s love with everyone she encounters.
Returning home in January 2007, Mary Beth McFarland arrived at MLUMC after living in Florida for five years. Born and raised in Dormont, Mary Beth's work experience includes time at the Allegheny County Institution (John J. Kane Hospital), the borough of Dormont and Mercy Hospital (Pittsburgh). In 2001, Mary Beth and her family moved to Florida and opened a successful restaurant chain. While working as a manager in one of seven restaurants, she gained extensive knowledge in human resources, payroll management and budgeting, all of which led to the enhancement of her management skills.
Mary Beth, her husband, Chris, and two sons, Ian, 13, and Zachary, 6, are members of St. Maragret of Scotland Church and live in her childhood home in Dormont.
