Adult Mid-Week Study to Begin on October 6th

In place of our Terrific Tuesday study for adults, we will be offering a mid-week study, beginning on Tuesday, October 6th, at 7 p.m. The study will be offered BOTH in-person and remotely via Zoom technology. It will feature the book, Generous Justice: How God’s Grace Makes Us Just, by best-selling author and pastor Timothy Keller.

This is perhaps Keller’s most provocative and illuminating work yet, and very timely for the world that we live in today. It is commonly thought in secular society that the Bible is one of the greatest hindrances to the work of “doing justice.” Isn’t it full of regressive views? Didn’t it condone slavery? Why should we look to the Bible for guidance on how to have a more just society? But Timothy Keller sees it another way. In “Generous Justice,” Keller explores a life of justice empowered by an experience of grace: a generous, gracious justice.

Please join us as we examine this critical topic for our time. We will meet for six consecutive Tuesday evenings, beginning on October 6th, and concluding on November 10th, for one hour each night (7 – 8 p.m.). You may join the meeting in-person at the church, or remotely via Zoom video or telephone connection. Copies of the book are also available for order, although not required for participation in the class. Please RSVP to Michelle Rizzo at churchsecretary@mlumc.org. Make sure to indicate whether you intend to participate in-person or remotely, and whether you desire to purchase a copy of the book (cost: $12.50).
