The Gathering

The Gathering

You’re invited to The Gathering: A Fresh Expression and Experience in Worship. Our new modern worship service meets on Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Asbury Center, the fellowship hall on the Church’s lower level. Come at 9:15 a.m. before entering worship for a cup of coffee or tea, a snack, and conversation in a relaxed atmosphere.

What to expect

The Gathering is a contemporary worship service utilizing a current-day approach to many traditions of United Methodist and Christian worship.  The primary preacher for the service is Associate Pastor Scott Miller. Pastor Scott speaks in a relevant and real manner about the Word and how it affects our current lives and connection with God. He coordinates The Gathering’s message with Senior Pastor Tom Strandburg’s sermons at the traditional services. In this way Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church has a unified voice glorifying God. Holy Communion is celebrated each Sunday at this service. The Lord’s table is open to all.

Musicians perform at The Gathering

The music for The Gathering is modern, arranged and performed in a current style. Music team leader, singer and keyboardist B.J. Collins is supported by church members and guest musicians on drums, guitar, and saxophone as well as vocals.

How should I dress?

Come as you are. The environment is casual. Whatever your comfort – jeans or a suit and tie, wherever your place on your faith journey, you are welcome at The Gathering.
